| Description |
| BESTOQUENCH is a mineral based general purpose quenching oil fortified with a sophisticated additive to give a faster quenching and to prevent sludging. These are blended from high viscosity index base oils having good oxidation stability, good fluidity and low volatility. The properties of the mineral oil used to make BESTOQUENCH meets IS-2664-1980 but it is furnished with additives to impart fast quenching. |

| Application |
| These are used for oil quenching baths for carbon and alloy steels. Since BESTOQUENCH light or medium does not contain any fatty materials, these can be used for quenching of components after carbonitriding. |
| |
| Performance |
| BESTOQUENCH provides faster quenching rates with resistance to sludging tendencies. They have very low volatility which minimise fire hazard. However the safety of the oil largely depends on the design and volume of the quenching bath. The mean bath temperature should not exceed the flash limit which is listed in this bulletin. The jobs quenched with BESTOQUENCH were found to have good hardening characteristics. |
